SPARC - Social and Physical Sciences for Advancing Resilient Communities

The Social and Physical Sciences for Advancing Resilient Communities (SPARC) project proposes an integrated, interdisciplinary framework for enhancing the resilience of vulnerable populations and systems through research, community engagement, and collaborative efforts in sustainable development. SPARC envisions a world where scientific knowledge is both deeply rooted in rigorous academic inquiry and closely aligned with the lived realities of communities. While the physical sciences provide tools to model and predict environmental and infrastructural vulnerabilities, the social sciences bring critical insights into human behavior, governance systems, cultural values, and power dynamics.
